Does the EPS module burn when it encounters a fire? The raw material of the EPS module is polystyrene particles, which are inherently flammable. However, in order to achieve the purpose of fire prevention, a flame retardant is added during the production process to achieve the purpose of flame retardancy. The EPS module now has a fire rating of Class B1. Class B1 is the name of a fire rating, meaning that the material is flame retardant, burns but is not easily burnt, and it automatically extinguishes when the source of ignition leaves. In addition, the outer layer of the module will be protected by 15mm thick fireproof and anti-cracking mortar to isolate oxygen and control heat transfer. The carbonized layer formed during combustion can isolate the flame from contact with the material and thus act as a flame retardant.
